About me

Erinn Winter

I am a mother of four children, all of whom were full-term breastfed. I live in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire.

I have always held a strong interest in infant feeding, and have extensive experience in NHS, voluntary and private settings, spanning over 17 years. I have been a midwife since 2006, and a lactation consultant since 2011. I have also volunteered as a breastfeeding counsellor, at drop-ins and on the National Breastfeeding Helpline. I have been a tongue tie practitioner since 2010, and have provided a private service to thousands of families since then.

Philosophy of care

Integral to assessing the impact of tongue tie on a baby's feeding, is a secure and extensive knowledge of breastfeeding. A decision on whether or not to release a baby's lingual frenulum, must involve a full feeding assessment. I am keen to support families to work on feeding technique, before deciding whether to release the lingual frenulum. I always take into account the family's viewpoint, and we can work together to decide the best way forward. I provide ongoing support by phone and recorded videos (included in the initial fee), and in-person follow-up visits are available (additional cost per visit).

Association of Tongue Tie Practitioners

As an active ATP committee member, I am part of a community of tongue tie practitioners where we engage in regular meetings, learn from each other, and support one another.
